Half Day Excursion – Sample Itinerary

Let’s play for half a day? Here’s a sample of what you can expect for your 5 hours of island cruising with Abaco Excursions!

– We will pick you up from our agreed start point. Most of our charters launch from Little Harbour or from da Blue Hole pier.

– You will be greeted by one of our friendly captains and be given a quick walk through of the vessel i.e. safety equipment on board, head (toilet) location, fully-stocked coolers, towels and snorkeling gear.

– The day begins with a quick 20 minute run to Hope Town to see the historic Elbow Cay Lighthouse; you can climb to the top and get a panoramic view of The Abaco’s which we recommend giving yourself a bird’s eye view of some of the areas you will see on your excursion today.

– Next, depending on your skills we can go to many snorkeling locations from Mermaid Reef to the Marine reserve, there you can swim with friendly fish! With some bread crumbs they are not shy and will come right up to you and give you a fish kiss!

– After your refreshing swim or snorkel in our crystal-clear waters, you will have worked up quite the appetite! We will take you to one of the many favorite lunch spots in Marsh Harbour, Lubber’s Quarter’s or Elbow Cay! If you are departing from or finishing your trip from da Blue Hole ask about our combo plans.

– To finish the day, you will be taken back to where your day started – dockside.

We thank you for your consideration in choosing us to give you a taste of paradise!

Fishing Excursions

Spend a day deep sea/blue water fishing, where we chase the local pelagic species – depending on the time of year the target specie varies. You can enjoy the hunt and hope to catch mahi mahi and tuna in the warm parts of the year and wahoo in the cooler parts of the year. This is a day full of anticipation and excitement when we do hook up to a fish. The catch rate is not as high as reef fishing as we are trolling a large ocean area but we can promise you a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work!

Another great add on to a day on the boat is to try your hand at catching one of the many vibrant species of reef fish that call The Bahamas home! We offer reef fishing with light tackle spinning rods for a fun time catching a variety of species – snappers, trigger fish, grunts, and groupers; which makes it a great family or friends endeavor.  You can keep your catch to eat or feel free to release it. Reef fishing is an exciting activity that will be fun for all with a rod in their hand.
